Seeing what actually moves across a financial services network

Financial institutions carry security, compliance and supervisory obligations that almost no commercial business faces. Network traffic analysis gives them a record of what happened, not just an alert that something did.

Financial services — network traffic analysis

The challenge

Protecting data, identities, devices and applications is not only a business concern for a financial institution — it is a regulatory requirement, and regulators expect evidence rather than assurances.

The volume of traffic on those networks makes that hard. Point security tools raise alerts, but an alert on its own does not say what preceded it, what else the host was doing, or whether anything left the building.

The approach

Network traffic analysis records the flows themselves — who talked to whom, over what, for how long, and how much moved — across high volumes without needing an agent on every endpoint.

That record supports three jobs at once: detecting behaviour that signatures miss, giving an incident response team the history to reconstruct what happened, and producing the reporting that supervisors ask for.
